Lena Mohamed, MS, OTR/L

 

Occupational Therapist

 

 

Lena is a licensed occupational therapist who holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from D'Youville College. She was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and has lived in Florida and Washington, D.C. before settling down in Raleigh. Lena's career started in pediatrics where she honed her skills in addressing various sensory, motor, and cognitive delays in children. Her experience includes supporting children with feeding, sensory processing, developmental delays, fine motor challenges, handwriting, visual perception, and visual motor integration skills. Lena's experience also includes a variety of diagnoses that include, but are not limited to, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and behavior challenges.

 

Lena believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through her play-based approach, she strives to ensure that sessions are a FUN learning experience! Regardless of individual challenges, she finds a way to integrate a child's special interests and strengths into every session. Lena deeply values collaboration with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members, recognizing that a holistic support system is crucial for a child's success.  

 

Lena is a bilingual therapist who is fluent in English and Arabic. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis, singing, hiking, and visiting local coffee shops.
